A short-form proof of concept puzzle-platformer, built in Unreal Engine 4
Gameplay Showcase:
Design Goals:
The aim of this project was to create a short prototype of a game that would appeal to casual gamers who enjoy light puzzle-solving and simple traversal mechanics within a cartoonish fantasy setting.
- To design and prototype key gameplay systems, including a dice-themed puzzle mechanic.
- To promote exploration through compelling level blockouts.
- Implement working Combat AI using behaviour trees.
- Create a short but meaningful demo under a tight deadline.

Outcomes:
- The prototype had a playable, start-to-finish level, with a robust character controller that allowed for satisfying platforming and exploration elements.
- Enemy combat AI had been set up to attack the player and die when damaged.
- We entered the project into the 'Game Maker's Toolkit' game jam for that year, where it gained very positive feedback from the GMTK and itch.io community.
